Conclusion
This case report shows that epiploic appendagitis can mimic acute appendicitis and should be considered in abdominal pain diagnoses.
Supporting Evidence
- The patient presented with classic signs of acute appendicitis.
- Diagnostic laparoscopy revealed an inflamed necrotic appendix epiploicum.
- The postoperative course was uncomplicated.
Takeaway
A man had stomach pain that looked like appendicitis, but it was actually a different problem with a fatty tissue near his appendix.
Methodology
The case was diagnosed through clinical examination and confirmed via diagnostic laparoscopy.
Limitations
This is a single case report, limiting generalizability.

50-year-old Caucasian man with a history of obesity, hypertension, and hypercholesterinaemia.
